Gerry Dupree
My name is Gerry Dupree. I am the newly elected North Eastern regional VP for OBAP. I have been a OBAP member since 1997, and currently flying as a First Officer in the MD-11 at Fedex Express. Prior to joining Fedex I served 14.5 years active duty in the US Navy. Starting out as helicopter pilot flying the SH-2 (anti-submarine) and SH-3 (search and rescue), before seeing the limited future, and switching back to fixed wing. I ended my active duty experience flying the C-130 at Naval Air Facility Washington, DC. I still serve in the Navy Reserve.

During my tenure as NE region VP I hope to accomplish many things with your help. My primary focus will be to increase the regions participation in the Pilots in School program. Each of us were given a helping hand and encouragement at some point in our careers, and it is incumbent upon all of us to give back. Volunteering to speak at a career day event at a local school is a good start.

I'm asking every member in the region to represent in their kids, their neighborhood, or local school whenever possible. We all live busy lives which make many demands on our time. But I challenge you to make time to give back to the youth in your community. And please send me a short synopsis of any school visits or community events so we can give you your props and get it in the PIREP.

We also have a few events coming up for the North Eastern region including a meet and greet for those in the DC area this spring.

Stay tuned for more information.

Let's all do our part to make OBAP a "World Class Organization."
