Justin received his private pilot’s license at the age of 17 and currently holds a multi-engine instrument rating with over 600 flight hours. At 12 years old he began his flight training at the Atlanta ACE Weekend Flight Academy and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Sciences. He began his career in aviation as Chairman of the Stillwater Oklahoma Regional Airport Authority, where he commenced the initiative to recruit American Airlines to provide daily service from Stillwater to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

In Washington D.C., he worked for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as their Leadership Annual Giving Manager under Bruce Landsberg, President of the Air Safety Institute. During this time, he traveled across the U.S. raising funds and advocating on behalf of the Association and its policy initiatives.

He then joined the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C. serving as their Associate Director. For three years, he managed community outreach and policy engagement activities in Seattle, Washington D.C., New York City, and San Francisco.

Currently, he leads the FAA’s nationwide community engagement efforts where he serves as an aviation subject matter expert working with elected officials, airports and airlines on issues ranging from flight safety and efficiency to predictability.
