Krystal McCoy is the Director of Airports and Technical Operations Recruitment at American Airlines, where she leads a team of 17 recruitment professionals who focus on sourcing top talent, driving pipeline strategies, and infusing a Diversity, Equity, and inclusion (DE&I) lens throughout the recruitment processes. Krystal provides strategic direction and counsel to Airports and Tech Ops senior leaders, ensuring alignment with the organizational goals.

Before joining American, Krystal held roles at PSA, United and JetBlue, where she spearheaded the development of pipelines for technical groups, including pilots, engineers, and aircraft maintenance technicians. At PSA, Krystal demonstrated her innovative approach by building and maintaining two successful Pilot Pathway Programs: The Cadet Pilot Program and the Rotor Transition Program. She also executed contractual partnership agreements with 21 flight schools and universities, ensuring a pipeline of highly qualified military and student pilots. In 2018 Krystal was honored with the PSA Airlines President's Award for outstanding contributions to the airline, a testament to her exceptional impact and dedication. 

While at JetBlue, her strategic and thought leadership expertise enabled her to restructure the First Officer interview process, enhance pilot selection standards, and significantly increase minority representation within the engineering and flight organization, which led the organization to achieve record-breaking pilot hires in 2022.

Before her tenure in the aviation industry, Krystal honed her skills in talent acquisition during a successful decade in higher education. Her seamless transition from this sector to aviation, where she fostered partnerships with military students, the mayor's office, and inner-city community groups to ensure academic and financial access to accredited degree programs, is a testament to her adaptability and success in different sectors. 

Krystal’s contributions have consistently driven organizational success and innovation in talent acquisition, while also serving as a mentor to young Black professionals, making her a respected and influential figure in the aviation industry.
