Titus Sanders is a United Airlines B-787 First Officer and retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 U.S. Army Aviator, born, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently residing in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Titus has had an illustrious career in the U.S. Army, serving for over 20 years in various roles of increasing responsibility. As an Operations Officer and Aviation Mission Survivability Officer, Titus has amassed extensive experience as a pilot-in-command and has flown several aircraft, including the UH-60L/M, RC-12D/P/X, MC-12W/W, C-12V, and UC-35A/B.

Titus has completed six combat deployments, including multiple tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, and a deployment to Africa. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, a passion for aviation, and leadership skills that have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers.

He is also a longstanding member of the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), where he currently serves as the National ACE Academy Director and the Board of Directors Programs Co-Chair. Titus previously served as the OBAP Midwest Regional Director. He co-founded OBAP’s Explore Aerospace Program, a virtual aerospace education initiative aimed at exposing underserved student populations in grades six through twelve, in 2019.

Titus holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. He is pursuing his Doctorate in Aviation and Space Education at Oklahoma State University, with a research focus on examining the lack of African American pilots employed by Legacy Air Carriers and the factors contributing to this phenomenon.
