The OBAP Legacy Fly-In & Skills Challenge brings together students, educators, industry leaders, and aviation professionals for a one-of-a-kind event honoring OBAP’s 50-year legacy while investing in the future of aerospace.
This signature event supports scholarships and workforce development opportunities for the next generation of aviation professionals through the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals and the Luke Weathers Flight Academy.

Competition Categories
Flight Operations (Ops)
Pilots will compete in skill-based aviation challenges emphasizing precision, safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Aircraft Maintenance (Mx)
Maintenance competitors will demonstrate technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability, speed, and accuracy in hands-on maintenance challenges.
Awards & Recognition
Flight Operations (Ops)
1st Place — $3,000
2nd Place — $2,000
3rd Place — $1,000
Maintenance (Mx)
1st Place — $500 + Tool Package
2nd Place — $200 + Tool Package
3rd Place — $100 + Tool Package
Top finishers will also receive commemorative trophies and plaques.
